Monday
Today I focused on emails; messenger and face time basically anything that involves conversations (connecting with people)
Every morning I check my emails, usually for a phone bill, teacher information, work roster and pay slips, sales on clothing. I then check my messenger, it’s one of the biggest ways I message people now, because it’s free if I find Wi-Fi somewhere and doesn’t use up too much data. Also when they introduced the face timing it made it really easy for me to connect with my overseas friends and the quality has come a long way since Skype. I connected with my best friend who is living in Exmouth, WA and my good friend who was in New Zealand at this time. The great thing about messenger is that while we are talking we can be sending each other funny, interactive pictures if we cannot face time and I usually save them to bring up at another time. I really enjoy the way I can connect with my friends on messenger, it’s faster than messaging through sms, you can privately share videos or posts and you can send pictures and emojis. The negative side to messenger is this concept of “seen” it enables you to see if someone has read your message and when they read it. It’s a little confronting for some because people don’t reply and then post a status and it’s builds this idea of dishonesty. Today I replied to 4 of my friends messages, late of course but luckily they were not seen because I chose to wait to open them until I could respond. I face-timed my best friend which was really awesome because she is away. I love Face-timing my close friends because they can see the funny faces I pull but if I Facetime my partner I’m usually more attentive on how i look because I like to look good, usually because we only get to talk a little a week because we live far away from each other at the moment, it’s the new dynamic to a relationship, when you are doing long distance. I use my Iphone because the quality is fairly good and I can walk around with it.
